We are now just over half way through the pregnancy. We've had a fun time listening to name suggestions from family and friends. A long running joke that we would name our son Hash Brown has resurfaced and has gained momentum. The clever and trendy update suggested was to name him Hash Tag (#) Brown. Even here in Japan we hear laughs from friends who think we should name our son Charlie Brown! But here's how he really got his name. Back in April when I (Casi) sensed God was not done with us in the area of having more children, I said to the Lord during prayer, "If you give me a name I will start praying for that child". I'm not sure what spurred this boldness, but I had such a confidence that this is where God was leading so I figured I might as well start praying for that child. Within moments a name came to my mind that I had not thought of in about 5 years. It was the name Dan and I picked for Abbi if she was a boy. Immediately I felt "on the hook". Since then I began praying for Landon.
About one month later I got pregnant and last month it was confirmed that we were having a boy. On a side note, I told Dan if this wasn't a boy it just meant I was praying for another child yet to come :).
How comforting are the words from Psalm 139. He knows all of our days before one comes to pass, so of course He knows our names too.
"You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed." (Psalms 139:16)
