The End of a Chapter

Last night was the close of our High School bible study. This may seem like just another "end of school year" event, but it was not. Dan and I have been leading our small group of students for 5 years. So last night was not just a typical summer break from small groups, it was the close of a chapter.  We have poured our hearts into, taught the Word, opened our homes, and shown up pretty much every week for 5 years for these students.  Some students have come and gone through the years, but a few have stuck with us for the whole time. We started with a group of squirrelly 6th graders, whose attention span didn't grasp the concept of staying on topic.  Now, we are finishing with 10th graders maturing and growing in their faith.  It has been a blessing and privilege for us to work with these students.  May they remember the words Paul wrote to his "student", Timothy. "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." (1 Timothy 4:12)
